By Saurav Atthi on Thursday, February 10, 2005 - 2:08 pm:

I can't believe all you guys are from Hoshiarpur. I am from Hoshiarpur as well and came across this site through Google. I've been in CA for about 9 and a half years and been back twice, LOVED IT!!! Going back this summer again and for those of you who know Hoshiarpur really well, I'm about 30 secs walking distance from Hotel Shiraz Regency. My grandfather owned the land right across from the Hotel there and sold it in the 70s. Moving on more about Hoshiarpur, I went to Gyan Niketan Sr. Model School and I just miss the times I spent in Hoshiarpur. Love it to Death. IM me at Hoshiarpuriya or PunjabiELdiablo

I think I know who you are (on this site), if you need a friend, you've got one.

By SadInCanada on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 - 10:33 am:

Hey guys/gals,

Well, I moved from Hoshiarpur 11 years to Canada. Every single day, I have thought about my pind and the city. I have become depressed...The people, the food, the streets, my house, every little thing about my pind and the city, I miss very much. I went back in 2001, for a month...the best time of my life. But its been four years now, and life is becoming more depressing everyday. I can't move back there now, because I study here and my entire family is here too. But one day, I will move there for good and never look back at my Canadian life.

Yours...
- Sad in Canada

Hi fellow punjabis, My name is Danny, lived in Hoshiarpur for like 25 years and I am in chicago for last 6 years now. Not for a single day, I don't think about Hoshiarpur, its roads, people, frenz, our business in gaushala bazaar, and new grain market on phagwara road. I think life is a very strange phenomenon. When we are there, we want to be in a place where we can build ourselves but by the time we build ourselves, we find that roots, probably magnetic in nature, attract us towards 0ur mother land. I miss you hoshiarpur, mom, dad, my freinds, cousins, everybody. love you all and god bless you and god bless my Punjab. Can't wait to be there.

Kurhe kurhiyo eh butteber ki hunda..? :)

I am not jealous at all...

I am just expresing what I remember...that's all...

The road I am talking about is the road from Chabbewal to Badla, not GT Road...

GT Road goes from Ludhiana to Jallandhar and Amrtisar through Phagwara....

Anyways, since you are so close to my village, I consider you my sisters...

I wouldn't say anything to offend you.... :)

By HosHiarPur DiyAn KuRian (153.18.20.207) on Friday, March 26, 2004 - 8:39 am:

butteber PCJS
i know u are jelous of our pind, just admit it. we went there in 2003 and it looks very nice. it has a new college and a new soccer field and a lot of old people. n-e ways the road that you are talkin about is GT Road...GT Road tey...the road we are talkin about is the main Chabbewal road. ok? understand?
okay bye chalaku

Oye Hoshiarpuriyo, tussi mainu lagda kuchh ziyaada hi hoshiar aa...

Anyways, my dad's village also in Hoshiarpur district...

Morawaliye Rai's are chalaak people...I have some relatives from there as well...

I haven't seen Chabbewal in about million years...

I only remember it being small main road town... Maybe it developed now...

Anyways, in 2000, we went through it and the road going to Badla really needs some work...

By JATTI (212.137.57.41) on Wednesday, January 01, 2003 - 1:43 am:

Gup,
Our place of residence is Hoshiarpur, we are originally from a pind near Benga, and Morawali is near that aswell, so I guess your mums maiden name is Rai??

Ok about Hoshiarpur, its a nice town, I personally like that place as our house is there, but as a town it is pretty dirty and congested with traffic, it has a really nice shopping place where you can buy things made of wood, which is referred to as Ghanta Ghar.

When you say the "Hoshiarpur joke" what do you actually mean? i know the people from Hoshiapur are considered rather clever and even as liers, but of course the name says it so what can you expect. lol!!!!!! so are from the City itself or from a Pind nearby Hoshiapur?

By Gup (172.182.215.80) on Tuesday, December 24, 2002 - 2:33 pm:

We are originally from Hoshiarpur. Some friends of mine visited there but I have never ever been there. I would love to know what it's like!
